Press Release for Field Donation!

Here it is!

Ann Arbor Ultimate donated $2,500 to the Ann Arbor Public Schools Community Education and Recreation department (Rec and Ed).  Ann Arbor Ultimate is an all volunteer, non-profit organization started in 1994, dedicated to promoting the sport of Ultimate (frisbee) and growing the local Ultimate (frisbee) community.  The donation will help cover recent renovation maintenance work on the fields at Scarlett Middle School.  Patrick Reed, a director for the organization, passed along the check to Sara Aeschbach, Director of Rec and Ed, at the Recreation Advisory Committee meeting on Tuesday, December 1.  Over the past five years, Ann Arbor Ultimate has also donated about $1,000 to each of Project Grow, Food Gatherers, Huron River Watershed Council, Meals on Wheels, and the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Ultimate is a fast paced and fast growing sport played by 827,000 people in the US and in atleast 42 countries.  Ultimate is played at all levels without referees, and celebrates the spirit of the game in promoting a highly competitive sport that is self officiated.  Ann Arbor Ultimate runs clinics, leagues (Spring, Summer, Fall, Late Fall, and Winter), tournaments, and social events for players of all ages and abilities, and also supports local high school and college teams.
